Howard Seftel’s restaurant review Just before the ayatollah took power, I spent a couple of years in Iran, inhaling the perfumed scents of Persian cuisine. In fact, I inhaled enough of them to gain about 25 pounds. Those pounds are gone (replaced by pounds of more recent vintage), but the glowing memory of Persian food remains. When I need to refresh, I go to Tasty Kabob. Here I find authentic khoresht bademjan (eggplant stew), baghali polo (rice with lamb shank and fava beans) and sultani (tenderloin and ground beef kebabs). Tasty Kabob, 1250 E. Apache Blvd., Tempe, (480) 966-0260.
